I haven’t used CareerBuilder.com in a long time, because it’s a pretty useless website. Also, I get tons of shit like this:
“Dear Jobseeker, I am writing to you in regards to your recent job application. We are happy to announce the beginning of our concierge personnel hiring program. Part-time posts are vacant.
what are the duties?
- compile information, provide researches when no clients in your area – 80% of time
- Make required pre-arrangements for our clients and assist with any request during stay
- Errand running, corporate shopping
- Planning and ideas
Do I need to have a previous work experience for this?
No, we provide with an educational program for our new employees. We have some requirements though.
- Internet connection, personal e-mail , and be available on the phone are a must. Responsibility.
- Preliminary skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Your age must also be over 18, male or female and US citizen.
Please contact us by email to start.”
Somehow, this gets through my spam filter on occasion. I’m not sure how I’d “provide researches when no clients in your area.”

I just started my job and have been fighting allergies, so I went to the store and bought this stuff. It made sense when I put the stuff in my basket.
Or course, when I got home, I quickly realized why I don’t buy that many Reese’s products at once.
Also, food lists are important.

A friend gave me this bike. It belonged to his coworker’s wife and was purchased for exercise purposes. Judging by the state of the rims and brake pads, she chose other forms of exercise.
The sticker on the bike says it was purchased at Wheel Sport in Spokane, Washington (still in existence with two stores. Yes!). The serial number only confirms that it was made prior to 1985. The derailleurs are of the Shimano 600 series. I repacked the bearings in the front hub this afternoon (yay unemployment!). I have to take the frame to the shop to take care of the rest. Thankfully, they have all the tools I can use.

I haven’t had a yard since 1999-ish. This yard is pretty small, but I’m going to do my best to enjoy it this summer. The other night, after a few beers, Lindsay and I took care of all the really large weeds, which involved me getting burrs all over my gloves and hat. Today, when she was on lunch break, we took care of a huge portion of the flower bed (Hey! There’s bricks in there!)
This is one of two piles of weeds. Apparently, my landlord only pays for a service to mow the lawn. They mowed around the piles of weeds. I have to find some yard waste bags. The QFC was out of them.

Went for a walk around Greenlake and stopped near Duck Island. While sitting on a bench, this fellow walked up on land and stared at me for a bit. Then went about his business.
Meanwhile, across the water at Duck Island, the Canada geese were being dicks.
